A lifesav-ING partnership

DKMS working with ING in the UK

Blood cancer charity, DKMS UK, is delighted to announce that it has been selected by ING in the UK as its charity partner for the next two years.

The partnership will enable all ING employees to support DKMS’ lifesaving work in multiple ways from joining the UK stem cell register to taking part in fundraising initiatives and helping to raise awareness of the need to register more potential lifesavers. This will allow DKMS to facilitate more lifesaving transplants to give patients a second chance at life.

Livia's experience

Olive Yu, Director at ING in the UK, knows only too well how important it can be to find a matching stem cell donor. In March 2020, after several weeks in hospital, her two-year old daughter Livia was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). Working with DKMS, her family launched a campaign to recruit more blood stem cell donors to the global register, in the hope of finding a lifesaving match for Livia, and others like her.

Following a successful transplant, Livia is now a happy, chatty five-year old!

How you can help

Together DKMS and ING in the UK want to do more, and change the lives of other children just like Livia.

If you are unable to register as a potential donor, we would be very grateful if you could consider making a contribution towards the cost of registration.
