Our Big Love Gala is a unique event which shows how the love for one wife and mother grew into a global movement, touching countless lives across the world. The evening helped to raise awareness of blood cancer, the importance of blood stem cell donations and raised vital funds.
This is essential in helping us register more potential lifesavers to give patients in need of a blood stem cell donation a second chance at life.
The story of a lifesaver
Alex Heaton, 27, from London, took to the stage to share his personal experience of donating his blood stem cells earlier this year after being on the registry for two years. Guests witnessed a magical moment when Jack Withers, 13, got to meet his lifesaver, Michael, for the very first time.
A special thanks
Guests were entertained with a performances from DJ Wade Crescent, cellist Maxim Calver and Jack Savoretti who sang hit songs including ‘Written In Scars’, ‘Knock Knock’, ‘Whiskey Tango’ and ‘Back Where I Belong’.
Supermodel Eva Herzigova introduced Sotheby’s Chairman Lord Dalmeny, who led a successful auction, boosting the fundraising total for the night significantly.
A special thanks to the Gala’s sponsors, honorary chair members and the benefit committee who together all helped to host an incredible evening.
