Join a lifesaving team with DKMS and the EFL

Football brings us together. Whether you’re cheering from the stands or watching from home, we unite every match day to support our teams. Now, in partnership with the EFL, we’re inviting you to join a different kind of team — the team that offers people with blood cancers and blood disorders a second chance at life.

Every 20 minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a life-threatening blood cancer. Each year, more than 2,000 patients need a stem cell transplant to survive. Every new donor brings us one step closer to saving a life.

Footballers and fans unite for the cause

QPR FC defender Jimmy Dunne has teamed up with DKMS to raise awareness after witnessing the devastating impact of blood cancer on those close to him. He urges, "If you’re between 17 and 55 and in good health, you can sign up. Donating stem cells is often as simple as giving blood—and it could save a life. DKMS supports you every step of the way. Let’s get behind this!"

For Alex Reeves, 23, a football fan and stem cell donor, the experience was life-changing: "It’s incredible how becoming a stem cell donor can connect you to someone anywhere in the world, just like the beautiful game."

Your support matters

Getting involved is simple and can be done in three easy steps. First, register online by filling out a quick form and request a free mouth swab kit. Next, complete the swab at home — it only takes a few minutes. Finally, send the kit back to us, and you’ll be added to the stem cell register, ready to be someone’s potential match!

If you don’t meet the eligibility criteria, there are still many ways to help. Whether through volunteering, fundraising, or organising events, you can be a part of our mission.

Together, we can give blood cancer the red card. Sign up today!
