You donated stem cells and gave a person with blood cancer a second chance at life. This is a great, selfless achievement and we thank you.
It is an incredible feeling when the patient you donated to recovers with the help of your blood stem cells and we will be there to celebrate with you.
We will also be there to support you if your patient sadly passes away.
Some donors are surprised by how much they are touched by the death of a person they do not know. It is important to remember that with your blood stem cell donation, you gave a patient a second chance of life. You gave them and their family hope and valuable time together with your generous and courageous action, even if they were ultimately unable to overcome their disease.
